A New Landmark of Kagay-anon Pride Rises at Limketkai Center

The “I Love CDO” signage at the heart of Cagayan de Oro is more than just a tourist attraction — it’s a symbol of the enduring pride of Kagay-anons, memorialized in a public space accessible to everyone.

On September 24, Cagayan de Oro will welcome a new landmark: the “I Love CDO” signage at Limketkai Center. Reminiscent of pop art sculpture by American artist Robert Indiana and New York’s iconic state slogan designed by Milton Glaser, the 12-foot-tall attraction stands as a monument to Kagay-anon pride.

The modern design, done in passionate red, is meant to evoke a love for the “City of Golden Friendship,” brought to life in a sculpture that doubles as a vibrant public space open to both Kagay-anons and tourists. Located at Rosario Crescent, the landmark invites everyone to take photos and express their pride in the city.

“At Limketkai Center, we have always highlighted the best parts of Kagay-anon culture — whether it’s our world-class culinary heritage or our unceasing hospitality. After all, Cagayan de Oro isn’t called the ‘City of Golden Friendship’ for nothing,”

The city, of course, has no shortage of attractions for both locals and visitors. The addition of the “I Love CDO” signage at Limketkai Center is expected to bolster local pride while leaving a bold and unmistakable imprint in the heart of the city.

The event was graced by key city officials, including Councilor Juancho “Antuy” Roa Pascual, Vice Chairman of the Committee for Tourism, who represented Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy. Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez also joined the occasion, along with representatives from the City Tourism Office, distinguished guests from the media, vloggers, influencers, and beauty queens.

Limketkai Center encourages everyone to visit the “I Love CDO” signage, take photos, and help spread Kagay-anon pride across the globe.
