P135-Million Cagayan de Oro Ecopark July 2020 Progress Update

Here’s a glimpse of the ongoing construction of the P135-Million Cagayan de Oro Ecopark. It’s the old city dumpsite being converted into Ecopark.

The road preparation inside the Eco Park is complete. Construction of rotunda, parking space, drainage, and the lagoon is ongoing. Currently being layout is the amphitheater, children’s playground, and food hall.

The CDO Ecopark is jointly funded by the City Government of Cagayan de Oro and the Department of Budget and Management.

The CDO Ecopark is located at Zayas, Barangay Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental, Philippines. It’s the old city dumpsite being converted into Ecopark. Groundbreaking of the Ecopark happened on July 11, 2019, with a total development cost of P135 Million.

The Ecopark in Cagayan de Oro has the following features: recreational area, forest area, a variation of trees, bamboo garden, boat dock, food court, pond, amphitheater, walkway, bike lane, jogging lane, butterfly garden, fruit garden, research facility, playground, nursery, and a parking area.

When it’s done, it will be managed by the City Tourism Office. It’s expected to be fully operational by 2022.
