Aftershocks in Mindanao may last until Christmas – Phivolcs

According to Phivolcs, aftershocks in Mindanao may last until Christmas.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported that the aftershocks measured between 4.3 to 6.1 in magnitude.

Ishmael Narag, officer-in-charge of Phivolcs’ seismology division, said the aftershocks may last until Christmas.

“[The] aftershocks will continue for days to weeks. We’ll be recording events as far as Christmas,” he said.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said the last earthquake affected 7,303 families or 35,481 people and damaged 7,089 infrastructures, mostly houses and schools.
