PHOTOS: Peñafrancia Fluvial Procession 2018 Aerial View
Despite the bad weather brought by Typhoon Ompong, thousands of Filipino Catholics still celebrated the annual festival of the Our Lady of Penafrancia in Naga City, Camarines Sur province with the Fluvial Procession on Saturday, September 15, 2018. The procession started at Naga Metropolitan Cathedral to Penafrancia Basilica via Naga River at 2 PM.
Our Lady of Peñafrancia is a wooden statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary venerated in Naga City, Bicol, Philippines. The image comes from the original image enshrined in Salamanca, Spain. It is currently housed at the Peñafrancia Basilica where every September is held for the novena festivities in honor of the image as the principal Patroness and Queen of Bicol.
