Antipolo Train Station is a part of the Line 2 East Extension Project, which calls for the construction of a 4.14-kilometer (2.57 mi) extension eastward from Santolan station, including two additional stations. It is the easternmost station of the line and is set to open on June 22, 2021.

The station during its inception was formerly called “Masinag Station” but was renamed into the current name in early 2021. The station is located on the stretch of Marikina–Infanta Highway near the intersection of Sumulong Highway and is named after its location in Antipolo.
